Hi All

I stopped surfing in 1965, so am not up with the latest surfboard technology

I recently bought a surfboard with a Salomon S-Core inside, and have been told conflicting information about when to open the vent. Haven't had much luck researching it on the internet. Can someone please give me the real story??

Would also be interested in whether this system is still used.

Cheers,

S,cores are hollow so when they are being stored in hot cars or taking them on a plane the vent plug needs to be taken out. Also good for draining water out of them when they get a ding. Dont see many around anymore as S,core shut down the surf side of the buiness.

I'd keep it open it when not in use and just close it when your using it.

There's a guy that rides a hollow wood board around manly and I've seen him open the plug a couple times a surf - but I doubt that would be an issue for you.

Sweet! Salty Dog was a bit dodgy, sold a board on consignment with him and he tried to not pay me. The old owner Peter was a legend tho.
