bought it for surfing but will try it kiting in summer also.
yes, little expensive (walk out of the shop minus $1k after deck grip and bag), but in waist high surf its very responsive and super light. paddling wise I wouldnt hesitate to take on head high surf and bigger. seems to paddle better than my 6'8". the flat front section rocker may cause trouble coming off the top of the sucky ones, but you cant have everything. Will have to learn to slide it down the face sideways!
Dimensions are different than the surftec web site (this is aus model and web site is US) - like its 1" narrower and shorter. I was concerned the tail width wasnt there (I wanted slightly wider) but still getting used to it so will see.
