Just a warning, I had my wallet and phone stolen out of my car on Sunday along with a mates iphone.

They broke in thro the passengers side lock took all my loose change managed to find my phone and wallet in my jeans then put all the stuff in the van back to where it was so when we came back it all looked like it was when we left.

Not happy jan!

What time? Whereabouts? I was there from 7am to 10am and again from 12pm to 1:30pm. It amazes me that people rob cars there since there are always so many people around. After the lunchtime session, there were backpackers everywhere camping in the carpark. One group were in full workshop mode, with the bonnet up on their Pajero, engine idling rough, tools and fluids all over the ground everywhere. In the background about 4 other vans with awnings, chairs, BBQs, etc. It was like a camping ground. I highly doubt they'd be the sort to rip people off (well, not rip people off and then stay there in the same location). Still, with that many witnesses.

I never leave anything in the car. Never take a phone. Avoid taking sunnies. If I need money I take a small quantity of cash, no wallet. Take my keys in a waterproof key bag around my neck.

Just as you drive in I was parked to the right from 8.30am to 10.00am, yea I saw all of them but there was a couple of young guys parked next to us who at the time didnt take much notice but they were acting a bit strange. We didnt notice anything had happened untill we went to get some food afterwards as the theif had put all our gear back as if nothing had happened, didnt notice a thing untill I went to get my wallet
Phone was insured and they only managed to spend $180.00 of the credit card b4 I canned it.
So not real biggie I spose just a piss off thats all.

I always park right up against the foot/bikepath if possible (and if it's too busy to get a spot there I probably shouldn't be there). I figure there are always heaps of people walking and riding along there and it's less likely to be an easy target. There is always broken glass from windows everywhere in the carpark though, regardless of location. Sucks.

At least you got awesome waves, great banks and monster sets . The highlight was the two juvenile dolphins, did you see them? At maybe 9-9:30am?

G'day Legion,

Yeah - I saw the two dolphins at 3rds... and yes it was the highlight, because the waves certainly were ordinary AGAIN. Water/weather was nice tho'

On Saturday I was down towards the Contacio's 'underpass' and managed to find myself in a spot that was throwing up a few shoulder-head RH waves - lasted about 40min as the tide shifted - I got about 6 or 7 waves I was happy with. Best for a long while...

Early on Sat it was overhead and massively closing-outs. I actually saw a bloke snap his board - and saw another board in the bin on the way back to the carpark!

When I read these threads I realise that we must all walk past and surf next to each other all of the time, who would have thought!!

...perhaps we should have our avatar names as stickers on our boards as Seabreeze forum ID's...

Which is why I'm refraining from IDing myself. If I said what board I ride and what wetsuit I wear you'd spot me in a second, but so would all the lurkers etc. I also don't want to go paddling around staring at people's board noses or have people staring at mine. I will say I only wear chest zips, so that limits me to about 10-15% of the surfing population (so far).

What if the SUPers work out who I am .

Nah ... lynching would be far too quick .... prefer to think that a nice gorging followed finger nail pulling and then putting you all back together with a Power Band.

PS ..... sorry about the phone and wallet ....

Thieving mongrels. I had a similar thing happen a few years back. Came in from a surf and saw my jeans rolled up under my tyre. The mugs used a screwdriver to break the lock and go through me stuff.

I keep my skatey in the car and park down there all he time. I might change my ways. Hate to loose the beloved skatey to some wringe packing thieving ****.
