question: when you go to a relatively isolated beach [somewhere], why do all you SHEEP insist on paddling out on top of the only 2 people the water?

THE WHOLE BEACH WAS FIRING. like the whole 1km of it. we did not choose to sit there because it was the ONLY spot that was working.

Totally agree

No-one will be in the water at local breaks in Coffs (in the arvo and no one has been out for most of the day), then me and a mate paddle out (in small/badly formed surf) and suddenly its the place to be and 10 blokes paddle out, wtf?

Unless it is big/dangerous surf, then no need to be extra close

Sounds likely. Although wouldn't a big group of people be more likely to attract a shark than a single person?

That theory didn't make me feel any better a few weeks ago at an isolated south coast beachbreak, alone, at dawn.

I know where your talking about, I drove past around 7am

It was the first little area that had reasonably consistent peaks coming through.

stoked I kept driving, thats all ill say. Was bigger further up

Yeah, we had a look further up, but while bigger, it looked a bit fatter. Or did you go around the other side of the point?

Yea everyone knows where u are talking about

You'll have to convince everyone else to delete their references and pictures too. I'll delete anything encouraging I might've posted.

Dislocated left shoulder 6 weeks ago. It's the second time I've done that shoulder so I've got to take it easy , hoping to surf end of Dec begining of Jan with any luck (surf looked really nice last weekend, I've decided I'm not a pleasent person if I can't surf ).

Had the MRI yesterday, rotator cuffs ok but theres a bit of damage to the cartilage around the socket that makes the seat deeper for the head of the bone (also where the bicep attaches to the bone). Physio's having a good look at it and might have to go in for a orthoscopic surgury to have it repaired, but the hope is strength building should get me going again!

Thats a shame, I am the same when I cant surf very grumpy ect, I had the same sort of thing but on my knee, fixed now with no probs. Had to have an operation to clear some cartlidge away from the joint but it was all that micro stuff so no big scars ar anything like that.
