Rubbish collection in Bali is almost non existent. Everything is either burned or ends up in the ocean.
Yep, its actually better than it was 3 or 4 years ago thanks to a lot of locals cleaning up the beaches. But when you get a certain wind at some places coupled with runoff from some rivers...would be great to have locals selling a material bag for like 50.000Rp for people to return with, rather than adding to the problem...I was happy to see some local expats in Sanur bringing their own bags to Hardy's a few weeks ago. I used cardboard boxes that were left over from deliveries...nothing worse than spoliling your holiday with a plastic bag wrapped around your paddling arm. Indo has a ton of people & the Bali residents are not responsible for all the trash. But it makes for a good start...cheers guys : )
