Scrape the bulk off with a wax comb, then use a hair drier and a rag to get the rest off.

If you want it perfect then finish it off with some turps or acetone on a rag

leave it in the sun for a while, or hot soapy water with a wax comb.

Thanks fellow wax heads for the secrets of wax removal.I used the sun/plastic scraper/Bunnings wax remover/metho method.Worked a treat and the new Sqid grip stuck like an abalone when you missed it the first time and went back for another go.

I recently cleaned a board up that i was going to trade in with acetone as i have done in the past, unfortunately i left the board sitting on top of the rag i had used with acetone over night and when i picked it up in the morning it had eaten a hole through the resin, made it go all crystalised, had to sand it back which only half fixed it, cost me $50 bucks off the trade in price i reckon! From now on i will wash my boards down with water after using acetone. Live and learn!

Just use wax and grease remover, its like a mellow thinner for paint prep. It will not dammage a board like acetone, that is savage stuff. Shame about your trade in
