Hi all,

As the title suggests i am looking at getting two new boards. I have been on a 6'8 Strapper cruiser for the past 12 months. And although it has treated me well it doesnt suit all the conditions i want to use it in. I surf many a mushy beach break as well as more longboardable points as well as some much hollower beachies (Japs/Logans in warrnambool Victoria) as well as some punchier points to 5-7ft.

I am 6'1 and 95kg. paddle fitness is getting pretty good so im looking at boards inbetween 36L - 37L.
The two boards i have in mind are the:

-5'8 Lost puddle jumper for mush days
-6'6 Lost F1-stub for those larger days

However i dont want to lash out on something like this if there are better options out there. so i want to hear your opinions on this as well as what you surf in these conditions and what you like. I had a go on a lost V3 rocket 6'1 in 2' mellow beachies and it was super quick so im also looking at something like that to replace the 5'8 PJ.

Also where can i get the black glue and appropriate thread to fix up a wetty?

Why not get a couple of custom boards?

I found a wide nosed, pulled in pintail very good at the river mouth when I was there. There were close out sets so that gives an idea of the size. It's not a particularly high performance wave so I would be chasing the paddle from a wider nose. If you are surfing the freight train out at the lighthouse, then ignore this. They ain't late take off boards. Something like the Scorpion or Sumo is what I am talking about. At you weight, I would be treating that literage as a minimum.

For mush, how twin fin fish shape. It would be good for longboard points and the beachies. I have a couple of twinnies I can surf down to knee height.

Thanks thedrip, i was thinking a fish because i do like the retro style of surfing. The current quiver i have consists of a 9'5 long board for big mush days and fun summer board, a 7'0 Jed Knoll pintail with plenty of width in the nose and nearly no rocker, and my 6'8 at 40.1L. the Reason i want to drop down in Litres is to give me that bit more for duck diving these big sets when i get stuck inside however i want to maintain the relative length but drop some rocker in the nose of my 6'8 to still give me good paddle power. with the puddle jumper i want a wide low rocker mini simmons, biscuit type feeling board that is fast down the line in smaller waves but still manoeuvrable and the option to change up fins in the board from thruster to quads, twins etc for the conditions is handy where as a twin fish with glass ins doesnt

I think the boards your looking at are good boards, re: the puddle jumper id even consider going to 5'10" even 6'0". I rode a 5'10" of a buddy's and found it quite loose, I'm 6'3" and 97 kg, another mate has just got a Puddle Jumper RP and i'm hoping he'll let me have a play on that soon????
