Arvo Gents,
Can anyone advise a good spot to head for waves in NZ at either Xmas / New Year or Easter.
Potentially travelling in a Maui Camper with wife and kids. Looking for scenic spots with plenty of peaks, reasonably consistent swell and not to windy. 7 day window of opportunity.Am I asking too much?
Due to limited time, is there an area of NZ we should focus on? Quiver will include kneeboard and maybe a stubby. Would like to stop in around the Raglan region, to at least have 1 paddle at the famous point, even if it's ordinary. Are there beachies around there if the point is not working" Or should we focus on another part of NZ at these peak times of the year.
Due to having family on board I don't have time to nick off in search of seclusion - we want to pull up and surf.
Any info appreciated.
Regards,
Lance
Raglan and the whole Taranaki region-it's a volcano, so round and offshore somewhere-just keep driving-heaps of spots-reef, beach, point. Or Gisborne region, beautiful area and heaps of waves. Just a coupla' suggestions. There's a great book you can pick up in Raglan that has all the NZ surf spots-do an online search and you'll find heaps of info.
