Usually ride a 6'6" webber fatburner great all round board but looking for something to allow for a bit of progression with my turns etc

i am about 90kgs and 190cm and looking at the JS Luke Egan or the DHD Margo pro has anyone had experience with these boards or shapers and would people suggest to stick with a 6'6" or go shorter?

Cheers

havnt had any experience with those boards but i would reccomend taking ur current board to a shaper and he will set u on the right path and shape a board for ur needs. Pro model and brand boards are a generalisation of a surfboard. they are designed to be general allrounders for a particular size person. They dont always take into consideration a persons age, fitness, skill level and most importantly, where u surf most. A board for the beaches in Perth will not be the same as what u would ride up north or again, down south. I guess this doesnt matter as much if ur early on in the surfing capability area but as u progress, u notice the differences. A mate of mine just got Mick Fanning DHD i think. he's the same size as mick but the board does not suit his surfing and he hates it, although it looks pretty sweet and feels nice under the arm. Good luck, buying boards is fun, i reckon all surfers should get at least one a year....

Hi Dave, welcome to seabreeze.

The boards that you are suggesting will both be fine , basically because they are designed for the bigger guys. Barndog is also correct in suggesting to take your current board to a shaper and take it from there.
Up to you really.. Good luck and let us know how you go
