Is it just me or does everyone have a board or two with side to side looseness of the fin in the fin box? it really ****s me.
My solution is place bit of toilet paper or two over the FCS holes before pushing the fin in. Then rip away the excess paper and go surfing. It really wedges the fin in tight.
But does a little side to side movement affect performance much anyway?
Ive also tried building up the insides of the fins box with superglue. Letting it dry, before putting the fin in obviously. This doesn't work as well as the toilet paper which is the quickest easiest way.

Since you have the stuff anyway, Fill the holes with superglue then insert fins. That'll get rid of the movement for you.

dan. That would certainly get rid of the in and out movement. I think the side to side movement would still be there. I saw a guy do it once.
blueball. I must just rip too hard. FCS fins can't handle me.
First thing I check when buying a used board is the fins and fin boxes for damage.
Some people talk about using electrical or plumbers tape around the FCS tabs before you put them in the box.

Try using slivers from an aluminum can to shim your fin tabs and stop any lateral movement.
I've done it in the past with a bintang can and a set of old scissors. worked a treat!
