Pretty ordinary waves around Lancelin and for that matter anywhere north of Perth really.
Better off staying local

We paddled out there a few times in the late 80's. The lefty reef bloody hurts & the other waves in the middle are pretty sh1t. The last time we went, mate stepped into the shallows & stepped on a cobbler. Luckily waved down a boat, saw the local nurse for some morphine, grabbed some beer & waited for us to paddle back...after we had a few cruddy waves...these days I would be worried about bigger fish than cobbler, its just that kinda place...

there are no waves in lancelin. seabreeze comes in at 10 every morning.
not worth the drive ,heaps of sharks, bad currents on the outer reefs.

Used to surf it but then i got eaten by a piranha and then a crocodile. Probably best to head south.

Very hit and miss...like the Yanchep to Dunsborough stretch. As Razonnater & mocha1 said, the wind and the baitfish would put me off surfing out there. There used to be seals out there as well, as there are at the other island.

In saying that though if you enjoy big heavy waves, there is a bombie in that general area (not the one at Back Beach) that I have seen get pretty hectic on a very big swell. A few weeks back when WA copped a fair sized long period swell, this place would have been completely mental and I doubt anyone would have surfed but if you had a boat it would have been epic to see.

Kite it a bit but with a kite you can get out of there in 1.73 seconds, if there were no risk of getting munched then I reckon it would be regularly surfed but it's not epic so no one seems to even bother. Same with the wedge island area, have surfed it alone, with a surf safe. No one around for miles.
