It is sually great to see pros in the water
but Had the opportunity to be in water at TI Tree with J w 2 days in row last week

Firstly when he was taking off he would yell out F##k Off to anyone who even looked liked paddling for the same wave when a quick shout of Hey would have worked just as well - saw this at least 4 times

Secondly - guy was on a nice wave and was riding a distance then JW spun around insde him and took off and then proceeded to tell him to F off

Third - While waitng for a wave on the inside would yell **** off whne a guy a longboard was on a wave he wanted to ride

On top of that he had his mates towing him out the back on Jet ski -

So a discussion about his behaviour was had by a few of us that were in the water

Yeah he surfs great but what a poor example for the young kids and he sure lost the respect of us

I am sure his sponsors will be happy to read this

Maybe you caught him on a bad couple of days................

That said there's no room for attitudes like that on the water but they unfortunetly prevail more often that not.

Watched the surf a bit over the weekend (4 more weeks, just thought I'd point that out) when I had some spare time and was appalled by the maners I saw. I'd like to chock it up to Manly being Manly but people these days act the same way in the surf everywhere else.

I've seen this a fair bit from guys that think they are hot ****...a qucik smack in the mouth usually sorts them out....

I totaly agree. There will be a fatality and then there will be change. jetskis have thier place tow in sufring looks fantastic and opens up all sorts of new horizons but there is no room for them at breaks where crew are sitting and waiting for sets.

The law states in WA that a craft such as boats jetskis are not permitted within 200m of the shore unless in designated areas.

Plus the fact they are noisey and break the soul and harmony of the day. A bit like our friend mentioned above. Another candidate for the smack in the mouth and F**k off program.

latest laws in NSW state that you must have a sled, an observer, and safety gear like PFD's, flares etc..
