Hi,

Does anyone know where you can buy ION or Hurley wetsuits in Australia (preferably Sydney). Also, what do people think of these wetsuits?

Thanks!

I was asking about Hurley suits at a large shop (that sells them) and he did admit they had an issue with a few returns a while ago. For what thats worth.

Me i have been looking at another Xcel but am struggling to find anyone who carries them in WA or even the East for that matter, any suggestions on who stocks them please

Id prefer not to order from the States..

Hey JB check out Magic Seaweed. I think my mate go free shipping with the last wettie he bought from them. Don't think that they are the cheapest though.

Thanks Magic Seaweed have them. Im looking for a different colour than the standard black. Thats all that Surfstitch and others locally seem to have..

It would be nice for my family to be able to pick me out in a crowd by my wetsuit colour, instead of my current bad surfing method..

I've had ripcurl and peak wetsuits (same company) over the past couple of years and have been quite happy with them.

I was speaking to a Rep last week about the water getting cold enough to dust off the 3mm steamer. He suggested that I soak it in water overnight a day or two before i intend to use it - Apparently the neoprene when unused over the summer can become very dry and a sometimes brittle. Soaking the wetty lets the neoprene absorb some much needed moisture and will help you avoid any cracking or splitting at the seams when putting it on for the first time in a few months!

I haven't heard of this tip before but have to say that it makes sense!

I had a hurley wetsuit. Super comfy, but it lasted three weeks. Ended up with tears in through the neoprene, stitching falling apart, lining separating from neoprene and glued seams separating. I can't believe how poor the quality was. It took me about a month to get the warranty claim sorted (which eventuated in my money back, so i guess that's a plus except for the time without the wettie). I would avoid this brand until they have resolved their quality issues.

Replaced it with the rip curl zipless and it is infinitely better quality, and warmer too.

Yeah that makes sense.
My current Xcel is fine, but it seemed dry and a little brittle when i used it and thats what had me thinking it may need a replacement. It must be three sessions old at least and i also thought it might not be as flexible anymore

It's one of the few times I took a store bullsh1! Statement of arh yeah we will return it for you mate but not until we have a few to send to save on postage.

They told me to keep the wetty until they called me.... They never called me... When I followed up they claimed they would never have told me to wait and that it was my fault for continuing to use it after faults started to occur..... Make your own judgement!!

I only bought a Hurley as I had a work mate who lives in the US and brought me one back for free as it was shipped to his house. I bought a 2/1 chest zip spring suit for the windy summer mornings. RRP in Aust on surfstitch was $349 and I picked it up for $119 in the US which is the main reason I bought it.

Downside, I wore it 4 times and the lining around the neck started peeling off from the inside??? WTF? was really annoyed now as I bought it from the US. I emailed Hurley Australia and ended up sending the suit to them eventhough it was a Hurley USA problem.. They saw it was faulty and sent me a new replacement. The customer service is excellent but I would be concerned about long term quality.

My old O'Neill lasted me 6 years before the seams started coming apart (un-glued) and I decided to splurge on a new steamer for this winter . CZ F Bomb and I can tell u that in 6 years wetsuit technology has improved ALOT !!

anyway, my 2 c.
