I'm looking at getting a new board. I currently ride a 6'2" ;18 3/4; 2 3/8 Rusty Aido Wheeler Rounded pin. The board is great when the surf is solid up to about 4ft. Anything bigger or smaller and less power is a stuggle for me. I am a bit less fit than I was a few years ago when I bought the board. I am 6ft 2in and weigh 85kg.

I am thinking of getting a 6'4"; 19; 2 3/8 Tokoro or DHD square tail - would it be silly going for a 6'5" as an all round board - does that extra inch make much of a difference?

I seem to be riding a board about 5 litres too little - no wonder I get sore arms...

Extra length will help with paddle power eg, the shorter the board the less reach you have getting into the wave....Thats why mals can catch very small waves..

Sunseeker, an extra inch will make all the difference. Your 6'2 will always slide as soon as it gets over over shoulder height. I am around 83kgs also and have a couple of 6'3s.

an extra inch on your lenth will let you draw your turns out a little longer whilst giving you a slightly higher "top speed" allowing you drive , rather than slide when its around head height. Keep the same width and thickness . You'll get used to it
after a couple of deacent hacks.

Almost all of my boards are rounded pins, they just seem to drive the line easier while still being nice and loose with a bit of single double

Best of luck ...........
