Mates had a wave here yesterday and were wondering.
What water is coming out of the pipe around Hale Road? I believe that the Herdsman area was originally drained and the land used for an early airfield and market gardens and it was piped to the coast. Is this still the original pipe? Does it still drain Herdsman Lake? Is it just road run-off like at South Scarborough?
Was pouring out cleanish water yesterday when it was 30 degrees and no rain for a while.
Any answers?

the Herdsman Lak main drain comes out just north of The Boulevard. theres another main drain near brighton beach.
Groundwater is at its peak level now on the swan coastal plain and the drainage is probably groundwater from nearby drainage basins with road runoff, cigerette butts, chocmilk cartons, and anything else people like to pour into the stormwater system .

Not in the metro area. Straighthanders at all the beachbreaks I've been to lately, especially with that little swell spike on Sunday. But even on Friday afternoon with a smaller swell it was pretty straight. Banks have disappeared, washed away by a month of insipid swell and constant onshores and southerlies. If anyone wants to update me (via PM) on conditions north or south of the metro area I'm all ears. Although I almost never have enough time to make a day trip, even on weekends.
