Hi Guys

I'm just trying to attach my new surf mount however I've come across one problem...

You see, the surf board mount is flat and my surfboard is convex across the stringer.

When I place the surf mount on the go pro there is a gap on either side I.e - the mount is not fully attached as the surface is not flat. If there is a gap, I'm afraid that water will slowly eat away at the adhesive and dislodge the mount.

Have any of you came across this problem?

If so please let me know what you did to overcome it.

Hmm I'm not sure about the suction cup mount. I've already bought the adhesive and just wondering if there's a way around the gaps. Do you think spreading resin around it could work?

Building up a foundation? Sure. But I would use glass as well, not just resin. Why not move it off center to a flat spot though?

I'm trying so hard to find a flat spot thats not halfway down the board. Its really convex across the spinner!

Can you mount it off centre on a flat part of the board As per what Drip said.

Even get a FCS plug mounted if your really keen, but it will still need to be of centre. TBH with the fish eye lens on the Go Pro's the positioning is not as important really

Get a Pro Standard mouth piece. Facing the camera forward from the board distorts the wave...it's just a weird angle, and although it's interesting to see yourself surfing a wave, the wave forming in front of the surfer is what everyone wants to see.
