G'day fellas, I'm the newbie

I'm in the market for a new board, and have heard various anecdotal evidence both yeying and neying the technology and the ride. What are your thoughts?

No takers?

Well,..how many snapped firewires have you seen or have reliable sightings of?

I've got an old Sunova that was once creased. Same technology that Firewire are built with. It's still an excellent board. I really like compsands, so it's a "yey" from me.

Seen one delamination with the 1st batch, only heard of snaps never seen one. Few guys I know have em, no one seems that impressed.

seen numerous delaminations and two complete snaps of firewires that i can think of off hand, as well as a savage crack in a deck. sunnova don't impress much either, very heavy for what they are and only flat bottom shapes...? c'mon...

would not spend the money on one personally, close friend, an ex aus school champ went back to shaping his own boards after riding one for a while, saying not overly impressed with them...

for mine... can't beat poly boards for performance and variable versatility... (if that makes sense)

Are they being snapped in waves of consequence along with a similar number of PU boards?

Doggie, what fails to impress? Cost/performance or simply performance, or maybe performance/durability?

I havnt personally ridden one but Im involved in a boardriders club and a few of the guys are riding them and when I have spoken to them regarding how the board goes well no one has ever said thats the best board ive ever ridden ect ect, one guy has just bought a PU LSD and recons its the sh!t, I have one myself (LSD) and I think the are not bad as well. + the price tag is a bit of a bummer.
In saying that Taj used the same board in 07 so they must be pretty strong.

Heavy? Mine are waaay lighter than a PUPE. Flat bottom shapes is done for a reason. I'm sure you could get a concave if you wanted, but flat is by design.

Ive had a look @ some of Berts boards they dont seem that heavy to me, in saying that they do look like a strange shape. Firewires look good nice and light, bit pricey for what they are tho I think.

I've got a couple friends that have firewires, theyve been riding them strong for 2 years now and they still look pretty good. Couldn't tell you what there like to ride though.

I'm surrounded by, mostly kooks, riding them. I know they'd freak out if I asked 'em for a go, though...

Thanks for your ears guys, I'm needing to buy one, perhaps two boards over the coming fortnight while I'm home.

Are tufflites still in the shops?

Yeah tuff lights are dime a dozen, the new TL2 ones ride a bit more like the pu boards than the original ones though
