I've ridden a 6' spitfire RF in head height fattish waves & really enjoyed it. Its a board I'd like in the quiver also, although there are just so many similar options these days I'd probably go a scifi if I was spending that much money on a board. One thing I like about the SF is the drop down rail, same as the sadly discontinued Hellfire. Wish more boards had that feature...I think the rocker would be a bit flat for your local, you would have to go shorter than you might think. Like 5'8 or 5'10. But ultimately I reckon you could choose a more suitable shape...for winter when the sands away, summer would be fine with a 6 or 6'2 if you really want one. But you have had the hellfire which is also modelled from the dom, just more refined & suited to your local. If that wasn't quite right for there, the SF certainly won't be either....bottom line opinion. Buy it if you can get a good second hand deal, otherwise your money could be more wisely spent.
Thanks Mick, Actually the Hellfire was possibly one of my fav's. I did enjoy the Dom also but just wanted more size, IE paddle these days (put on some more weight and don't paddle as often so paddle unfit) and figured the Spitfire had that pulled in tail like the Hellfire. I have been suggested to look at a Uni brow also. The Sci fi looks great, but the construction is too light For my liking, same as my EVo..
