A couple of girlfriends as well as myself (20-something yrs of age/girls/in Perth) have taught ourselves the very basics of surfing this year, but we can't seem to progress without some advice. We can stand up on our boards and ride white water, but we'd love to be able to get on some unbroken waves.

We are looking for a teacher however don't know where to start.

Any advice on how to find, or what to look for in a suitable teacher would be great.

organise a private lesson with one or two of your friends. it will cater to your needs more than the group ones will.

my wife and her friend did several private lessons with these guys at mullalo and she picked it up pretty quickly.

shame she didnt stick with it actually. prefers a book on the beach

Not wanting to do the city guys out of a job but I would do the private lesson somewhere down south.

You need to get some decent waves (not big but some shape) to progress.
