I have a 9'6 mal with fcs fins and was wondering do i need all 3 fins or just the center one. And what effect does moving the center fin either forward or back in the slot have? I surf up in central qld at tannum sands so only get small swell.
Centre fin - forward loosen's it up easy to do nose spinners etc move it back stiffens it up bigger or hollow waves. Side fins use only when Big.
Sometimes though depending on the board shape and the wave shape moving the fin forwards allows the tail to be sucked up into the breaking section which then allows for good nose riding,triming.
