Stripped a thread on my fave board, being a channel bottom the screws are very deep in the plug and the rest of the thread can be used. I pulled apart an old leggie for the longer screw but its a fraction too long. Anyone know where I can get different size grub screws? I dont really want to replace the plug if I can help it

Try Ross at Scarb Longboards - he has a few...

I can't check cause mine getting repaired but maybe try a future screw, the are both 3/32 whit worth threads, not sure if they are longer.

Or...

If you get really stuck, drill and tap another screw hole on the other side to the screw that is already in there.

Or possibly...

I think there is a way to drill the plastic bit out and replace it aswell. Or you could go to a bolt shop and get a grub screw that is slightly larger thread than the current and try that or even just get a longer grub screw in the same size.

If none of those work.... Masturbating on a Cheese grater is probably a better way to spend your time....

Most of the thread is fine, its just the bit at the bottom. Im not that keen to drill this board if I can help it. These are very deep set screws so a longer screw will do the trick.

Yeah we have a few oversized ones, a touch thicker and a little longer. Allen key is a fraction bigger too but work for a stripped FCS plug.

The hole drilled through the other side works as well.

Thread size is fine just need 1 or 2mm longer than standard FCS screw. I know the futures ones are longer but wasnt sure if they were the same thread.

I should really replace all of them with longer screws to stop the problem once and for all..

there about 4mm longer

Could try the screw from a discarded legrope. Many brands including Creatures, FCS and Dakine to name a few, have grub screws joining the bits together. Similar length to futures, take an FCS key and I think the thread is the same.

I have done exactly that mate and its 1mm too long

I was going to try and grind it down but they are stailess and that might be difficult. I might try westcoast fasteners this arvo and see what they have
