Yeah had drama's with an older ESDS....bought early last year and battery lasted till about September. Contacted Wilson Vinano who is a partner in the business who asked me to send the unit to him in Hawaii. Unit sent in October and still no replacement. This was his last email to me end of Oct.....since then no reply to numerous emails and can't seem to get through to his phone.....shonky farker imo

"Hi Mark,

Yes we have received your package and as soon as we receive our new shipment of units from our manufacturer, one will be sent to you. The estimated time of arrival of the new units is within the next two weeks.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me back.

Thanks and Aloha,
ESDS Hawaii

Wilson"

We have sold a few of the ESDS sourced through the Australian distributor and have been very happy with the after sales service. The couple that have been returned for technical issues have been replaced straight away. Good reason to shop locally. Haven't seen a new model, they did update the Velcro attachment late last year. Will check on any new info tomorrow..

My neighbor has one...at first he had to wear booties to prevent shocks. Then the battery went...

I had heaps of dramas with them. I bought three one for me and one each for the kids. I have sent back all three plus all the replacements and even the charges. I lost one in decent surf then watched as one slipped of my daughter's foot on the shore and was never seen again. I contacted the wholesaler over east who offered a discount on the new version which was more expensive with the discount than the originals. I heard the new ones send the signal out twice a second where as the old was only once every second. Katana's sends the signal out 20 times a second. ESDS could be a good product but it does have some faults in my opinion.
