Hi, just fixed a gouge in the bottom of my board, filled it with resin/q-cell mix and have sanded it back. Just wanted to make sure water keeps out and feel that the job is done well with the q-cell.
All looks good and happy with it but do I need to glass over it now?
Thanks.

Depends how long you are planning to use the board for and how big the ding is. I’d say don’t worry about it. But it will start to crack after awhile, pretty soon actually.

It will deteriorate very quickly and just crumble away, trust me I have tried it even with very small dings. It's very brittle so any flex or vibration will just kill it. Just put one layer of fibreglass over the top. I paint the resin on with a cheap paintbrush if its not on the rail or a crease to keep it easy to sand.

YOU HAVE TO!!!...quick run down on how to fix a ding..1sand in & around the hole & clean it up,2 make a q-cell mix7 let it go offf, step 3 sand it back just a little under the height of ur q-cell mix step,4 lay it up with 1or 2 layers of glass& let cure5 sand it flush,5 gloss coat with a paint brush & then a finish sand!!....DONE..ALWAYS DO THE 5 STEPS EVERYTIME!! OTHERWISE IT WILL ALWAYS FALL APART!!!...SIMPLE!!...(WHEN U GET BETTER AT FIXING DINGS U CAN LAY UR GLASS WHEN U FILL IT .......BUT FOR STARTERS DO THE 5 STEPS........HAPPY DAYS!!
