its funny, i actually have a 5"6 biscuit.
its good in small waves, but doesn't have the range the hypto does.

I've ridden mine up to about 5 - 6 foot and it went OK....whats the Hypto like in steep barrelling waves?

if your ando its fine.
once its over 4-5ft then its party time and real board time.

its got a way bigger range then the biscuit but the biscuit kills it in small **** surf.
which unfortunately we get a lot of.

The other option is to go second hand. There is a huge range of boards available with updates daily. There is nothing like a new shooter but you can buy 4 or even five boards second hand for the price of the big brand names. fins are cheap to. At least you can experiment a bit and flog them off for nearly what you have paid. Or burn them as a swell sacrifice to the mighty Huey. Burn the bastards. I wonder if the epoxy boards go up like the old fibro ones. Bloody toxic.

+1

Most of mine are second hand, more boards , more variety, more spares after inevitable rock encounters, more to share, more to leave behind in other states just in case.

That said though, full credit to all the shapers out there, my favorite and best short board board is a custom. 6'8 Sunova, well before Bert went to make firewires with Nev Hyman.
