Was checking the surf around 7am today and noticed a bronze comodore up the back of the main car park with 4 people in it looking very suss. After i came back down from the look out i noticed they moved between some parked cars of surfers. Two guys got out and started sussing out cars. Once they noticed me watching they walked off towards the dog beach. Rang the cops but they couldn't get there. Got their rego number and reported it as they took off. Anyone going there early look out for a bronze holden comodore. I think they have the place tapped early while everyone is in the water. Bastards!!!!!

Well nightmonkey, me and my friend were among the ones that our car keys and house keys were stolen. I saw those guys walking towards dog beach and actually they were sitting at the beach entrance where the surf school is north end of carpark. They saw me to put my rolled towel at the top of my friend's bag with my keys inside. They must to be bloody quick!!.
We report to police as well descriptions and number plates. They were two separate car loads, with two woman, and one guy hide in the bush looking. Hope they get busted and feed to the sharks

Been plenty of break ins down there lately.
I just leave my valuables at the cafe. Owner knows me and looks after my stuff while I surf.

Wont stop them smashing my windows but at least they wont get anything valuable.

Think I've mentioned it before, but maybe leave a half bottle of Jack Daniels in the car. Take the lid off, empty out 50 - 100mL, fill with fibreglass catalyst. Put a home brew style white plastic lid with a new seal (can get them from Big W). Leave in the car and tell your mates not to drink it!

That'll learn them! Seriouly though, could get drunk by an innocent person so obviously not a good idea.

There's nothing in my car worth stealing, unless their really low on surf wax or want some mints

Should rip off their rego plate when they are off scoping out victims, or go all vigilante and catch them in the act and giver them a thumping...would make any wannabe think twice if they knew that could happen.

Localism could fix this one up nicely

I'm still keen on my idea of using my convertible as a bait car with lots of nice shiny things left on the dash...and a bunch of us hiding with bats, piano wire and gaffer tape.

The only thing I hate more than being dropped in on while surfing is floating around in the lineup wondering if my car has been smashed.
