I was looking to get back into Surfing & Bodyboarding, I was wondering if you guys could help me out witth my queries etc.
What is the best way to tell how long a Shortboard to get? (Try your mates)
What shoould i look for when buying a Shortboard? (Get a local shaper to copy the approx dimensions of you mates-see previous comment)
What should I look for when buying a wetsuit? (Comfort, What thickness other guys at your beach are wearing)
What is the best way to tell how long a Bodyboard I should get? (Up to belly button)
What should I look for when buying a bodyboard?(A colour you like)
What should I look for when buying fins?(comfort)
Also what is the best Surf Wax available for Surf & Bodyboards,which is good value for money(all waxes are pretty cheap compared to the list of stuff you want to buy. If you buy all your gear new then you can probably try every type for free. I like palmers)
Also any other Bodyboard & Surfing Tips on bags, fins etc would be good(other tip either bodyboard or standup dont do both you will run out of time)
thanks Tommo, hey waterdude , go see Mark Richards he will point you in the right direction and he is nice and close...a current state of the art short board may not be the way to go for your weight and size...and you will definitely be a bit rusty (all but starting all over again)...if you have no joy with Mark give me a call 0266537961...as for the body board...I have no idea!!
