Hey guys I've posted this vid for two reasons

1. To remind us all of the perils of surfing
2. To ask for your positive thoughts for a brother

Jamie's injuries were horrific, I stopped filming once I could see how bad they were and was talking to 000 within 30 secs. All surfers came to his assistance once they saw the extent of the injury. He will require cranial reconstruction(undergoing this now) and is lucky to be alive. He lost a significant amount of blood and received what looked like a 20cm cut to his skull, the reef actually removed the scalp from his skull to an extent that had everyone in shock and the guy you see running down the dune is traumatised. We got him to hospital and they asked if we had picked up any piece of skull or scalp. I hope this explains the severity of the injury and you all understand how close he came to death. He needs some positive energy boys has he undergoes surgery this evening, hope you can help. Stay safe

just received some info, he's been stabilised through the night, brain cleansed of sand and salt water. He will be operated on this afternoon, needs reconstructive surgery to the skull at the top of forehead to about 6cm along the skull towards his left ear. He is in good spirits but is still not fully aware of the extent of the injury, this is for his best as it doesn't look the best atm. Lucky boy at this stage, he's got to be fit for the impending birth of his second child which is due in four weeks.

Jamie has made a speedy recovery, he underwent surgery on Sunday morning and I spoke with him that afternoon. No fractures or brain damage but he has had the scalp reattached from his left eye to past his left ear with around 70 odd stitches. He'll have a mean looking scar and needs to rest up for a couple of weeks with visits from the medical team on a daily basis, good news and thanks for all the positive thoughts, I'm sure it made a difference.
