Okay so i guess you get heaps of newbies asking for advice but i really am a little stuck. I need a few more opinion please.

Okay so i've started to surf again as my kids 7 and 10 are getting into in and i need a different board. I surfed as a young fella but for the last 15 or so years have only surfed ideal spots on a NSP 7'2" South Point. A lazy mans board.

Now i'm in the water in real small waves so need smaller.

I'm 103 kilos, 5.10 ish but want small to be able to carry (when carting three boards down the beach) for those occasions i can't park right on the beach. Also want short to fit in car, not on roof for short local trips.

My short list is a
Webber Fat burner about 6'3"
Can't decide if i like the 7s or not?
Love the Channel Island Pod in a 6'2" or the Biscuit in 6'
My last choice and front leader (on price and second hand front) is a Rusty Stump 6'2"

Any comments you think a slow paddler needs to know.

I did even look at the diverse boards in QLD. Too many choices really.

just got a CI Pod at 5'8" for the same reason. To surf with the little kids after a
20yr break from surfing.
I'm 6ft and 80kg.
started back on a 6'8" Thruster which i used in Bali which was great but love surfing the pod.

Don't be scared of a bit of length and width (the missus certainly isn't

At your weight and your paddling ability, I would stick to something around 7'0 to 7'2. I ride a Simon Anderson Mollusc which is 7'2 x 3 x 21.5 and it has proven itself in largish down south stuff though I am yet to try it in Perth average waves. BTW im 105kg, 6 foot and am a reasonable paddler (ok I am 40). I think that you would find anything smaller frustrating to surf. That's just my opinion so take it for what its worth.
