Should be ok, you wont get off shore all day but it will be good still. I've just booked for late September and I've been there in October before, you should be fine.

The other side of the island is an option as well, plenty of set ups over there.

I reckon don't book any accommodation until your there. Do your homework on which areas work in whatever conditions and move around depending on the forecast

Wet season type winds have started early the last couple of years. Ulu's will work on pretty much anything, but the stairs will be dangerous with a raging torrent after heavy rain. Nusa Lembongan will be fine & definitely worth a trip over if you havn't been. Get's great waves & the snorkling is awesome. Talk to Mushroom at Nusa Lembongan Reef Bungalows & he'll hook you up with his brother Wayan on the Sista. Good bloke with a good boat. Reef Bungalows is good value too provided you can get a bungalow under number 8 or have no problem climbing stairs for the ones above.

Swells a bit hit & miss that time of year like Mitch says, but its pretty hard not to have a good time. I'll be over with a couple of mates dropping in on Darth when he's there

I'd recommend south lombok. It's great on the wet season! So consistent

Definitely do Lembongan, easy to do for a couple of days if that's all you have, still get some epic days there and crowds are down in comparison to earlier in the season.

Best time of the year. Generally crowds and currents down on the other side of the island.
