Hi I was just wondering if anyone has been to kavieng in png? I m hoping to go in April next year? Anyone who has been there would love to hear how your trip was!
I'm a chick and i haven't done much reef surfing I've been to a number of websites and majority say very shallow is it quite difficult to surf even when it is small? I have been wanting to go there for the last 5 years so excited!

Cheers I might try email some of those guys mate I'm in the middle of oz with no surf and paperwork I feel ya pain!!!

We stayed at nusa island retreat. Couldn't recommend it enough!
The only downside to png is that the swell isnt as consistent as it is in indo.
We had 5 days of great swell and about 4 either side when it was pretty small. Still surfed 4-6 hours a day when it was small!
The locals are some of the friendliest people you could meet! Loved it!

Sham's on the money there. Nusa island retreat is the way to go in that area. There is another camp run by some Californian brothers i believe on a nearby island who run a smaller camp but they are land based and do not have boats to take you out to islands like 'Ral' which is the only place to surf when it's small.
