Hi all, headed to Bali in mid November. Looking to stay in Canggu near Old Mans to teach my partner to surf. Any recommendations for hotel/resort style accom near the beachie would be much appreciated
I've heard its a good idea to stay as far away as possible. The doof doof on the beach into the early hours is getting a bit hectic lately even as far away as Jl Pantai Berawa from that direction (Echo). Maybe not a bad thing from everyones perspective, looks like you might appreciate a mid morning cross shore wind, so might appreciate a bit more nightlife and a sleep in. Otherwise try to stay not so central & read recent accommodation reviews on tripadvisor.
Thanks Mick, been checking out the reviews. Most seem to be a 75/25 split on good/bad. Fingers crossed we get lucky with somewhere decent. And yes, some mid morning cross shore would be awesome if we can get it, but wrong time of year I fear...
Stayed at the Aston in May was OK can walk down to the breaks Batu and Old Mans not far to the other food joints.
If you get the chance pop over to Pererenan Beach Pondok Nyoman Bagus Guest House and eat up stairs looking straight into the Canggu/ Pererenan breaks best Balinese food cold beers.
Another place I stayed with the wife was the Villa Lovecho rents rooms out was pretty good also bike rental at the start of the Gang good food in walking distance
