Montage of my last couple of surf trips and some more Perth footage.
Some shots you've guys seen, some you haven't. Enjoy.

EDIT: Watch in HD

Haha thanks mate. The joys of my job. The Indo surf footage leaves much to be desired. I really need to build/buy a gyro rig that is small enough to travel with and works on a rocking boat. The shakiness is magnified when you cant get the boat close enough due to the reef and have to use a telephoto lens.

Anyone who's surfed that spot (lots of you guys have) will know the currents there and how hard it is to keep a boat steady and in position. The currents also make getting in the water and shooting with a camera in a housing more or less impossible.

nice vid suba

rocking boat even makes it hard with a tripod!
You could dodge up a smaller form of this for travelling
with a bit of pvc

worth a look

I've got several professional stabilizers and steadycams which I use for work. I'm just hoping to find/build one that can be semi-mounted to the boat so I don't have to hold it so much. Similar to what we used once when shooting out of a helicopter up north.

Yeah it's Lembo (shipwrecks). Crowd was fairly big I guess as far as that spot is concerned but the waves were so frequent that you rarely had to wait to get a decent ride. The less crowded days and better waves saw me in the water surfing and not filming.
