Same here. If I had to struggle for many a times paddling out and losing that many waves, why should we allow lazy people to take the easy way out? Too many things in the modern day have been invented to make life easier. Seen what happened? Increase in obesity, diabetes etc. I know it doesn't relate to this but you get the drift.

My view? Surfing at it's purest is you, the ocean and the waves.

Agreed. That is almost a disgraceful invention.

As i get older I miss a few more waves towards the end of the session as my fitness wanes, but I still smile when I paddle into that last cracker that takes you to the shore... because you WORKED HARD to get it!!!

Yes it is isn't it, sorry I shouldn't use the lowest form of humour.

By the way, this fat slob could out paddle 90% of the people that read this forum.

Yep! On my second read of the post I "get" the sarcasm. Sorry "crustt". I was too ready to jump on the topic. Don't reckon they'll catch on anyway. Cannot imagine who totally enjoys a surf would want one. On reflection, maybe someone who has lost the use of legs could get back in the water to enjoy the feeling again.

Back in the 70's there was a bloke with one leg who surfed Bells on a goat boat, also I new a guy in the 80's that surfed quite well a J/bay, cut off well above the knee. So it may be acceptable for someone with no legs.

Ive got an old Waves mag at home with a guy from Bondi with amputation above the knee and has made an artificial leg specially for surfing, great looking bit of gear, it has springs like a car shock!!

Well if your a lazy f@cker you'd love it I suppose -a wavejet board but personally it might be a better idea to stop eating Hungry Jacks first.
