Let it all out here, as a way for those who care to better their skills.

OOh ooh, I'll go first! Don't paddle out to a dude in the line-up, sit 10m inside of him/her, and consistently take off too deep, wiping out, then paddle to same spot to repeat on every wave that comes through.

I'll go second too.

Someone is clearly trying to catch a wave. Don't go all 'deer in the headlights'. Try to paddle to the inside of him/her so as to not become road kill.

Kooks- usually alright surfers, who sit on their boards and float through the oncoming wave, in the pocket or where surfer riding the wave wants to bottom turn or cut back. Or has the rule changed- if your paddling back out the surfer riding wave can change his line to suit you???

Similarly, avoid paddling into the fall line or path of the surfer riding the wave. Duck dive the white wash on the inside instead of paddling for the shoulder especially in weaker waves.

Learn to duckdive
Do not paddle 10 metres to my inside repeatedly and blow the take off, first one you get and if ya good enough its all yours after that im going to burn you....and hard...
Do not paddle through the barrel when someone is in it idiot.
Dont paddle out and drop in than say ohhh i thought you were to deep, I will wax your windows for that and a full block.
If men are surfing a peak do not flounder around in the impact/landing zone like a wounded seal, do that down the beach.
If you ride a goat boat piss off, down the beach somewhere , same goes for SUP... dont paddle out on a sup when 10-15 people are surfing and let your aeroplane wing loose in the line up.
If you are not wearing a leash and your board hits me 50 metres down the line on a big day and you are in distress I will snap a fin off and push it in to the beach because I am an asshole.
Bodyboarders are ok but go surf elsewhere.
If it is 1 foot and people are teaching there kids to surf go surf another bank dont be a eggroll.
If you drop in expect a tune up.
When i was a grommet if you dropped in you would get dragged up the beach and a few handfuls of sand thrown into your wettie, viola crumbed sausage.
If the beach is empty and there are good peaks up and down it and two guys surfing a peak the same as all the others do not paddle out with you and four mates and expect a hello.
Dont post on facebook how good such and such is and how sick the banks are right now.
If you do have too wait at least two- three days.
No need to rock up to a spot with 5-6 people do not do this it isnt cool.
Do not paddle out down south and "pretend " to be local everyone knows your not this is why you have only caught scraps.
Wait your turn.
Do not snake.
Do not go straight you wanted it and you called it bad luck buddy pull in like a man.
Dont talk to me when im changing in out of my wettie its god damm creepy you unsavoury stranger.
Yes you can borrow my wax/fin key but that does not mean you are entitled to sit one metre away from me in the line up or talk to me. Face the front and drink your beer.

I think first we need a long winded and expensive ad campaign on the pros and cons of the issue of perth surf, then er on the side of caution have a ineffective and pointless postal vote providing us with information to answers we already know .I say pony up the money and give us a Kelly slater wave ranch ??????

Im sure the $120 million we threw away on letters could get a surf ranch in each capital city.
Can someone pass on Kelly's number to the PM

Hey zuke yeah man I'm still out. My diary extract is below.

Dear diary it's week 4 of Ross river virus times are tough it has me surrounded , I thought maybe I would find some solstice on seabreeze to lift the spirits but alas it appears everyone is getting waves, than there was a thread about kooks in the lineup this is my chance I thought,,,,,,but no a two sentence answer turned into a rant and just didn't help.
Frustration appears to be setting in, I'm in it for the long haul, if I see or hear of someone getting waves I will cry. (For real cry like a little sookie la la )

On a positive note in 4 weeks of the ross river I have lost 12kg I have had my own personal series of a cross between survivor and biggest loser, the only winner is the mosquito.
In other news and in a hateful manner I got my missus to bring me 3 twin packs of Mortein and I killed every single insect in the house and out the back in a genocidal insect killing spree. My missy has taken the last two cans off me as she said it was a little scary and crazed to witness...
dear diary I will find the last two cans and I will kill again any insect that moves even ladybugs are not safe.

yes in short a little frustrated,
please ask me what I think of goat boats and sups again

Most annoying for me is shoulder hopping kooks who complain about getting less waves due to their clueless kook ability and reckon theres some kinda kook waiting line to paddle and miss waves when theres like 20 or more people in the lineup. Fair enough if theres like 5 or 6 out I'll call you in, 20 or more is pretty much every man for himself I reckon

Pet hate is blokes who go for wave after wave and miss them then get up on the inside every-time like every set is theirs until they finally scramble into one, only to eat s**t..and then paddle up the inside again...

Also blokes who can't surf their board and get aggro at everyone else who can, that 5'"2 x 1 3/4 inch thick pro model is not going to give you any joy of you are an average surfer surfing average waves, just because you see the top 10 ripping awesome waves on them and you paid over 1k for it doesn't mean bugger all in the line up.

Wow this thread is therapeutic...

I hate it when people paddle over the shoulder or face of the wave while I'm surfing it.
Go behind me and duck dive the white water.
Blow ins do it ALL the time.

...when it's 3-4 foot...

On Sunday, I had one paddle across me in the lineup instead of duck diving the lip. The result was my las stroke before popping up caught his leggie and caused the nose of my board to yaw left and I was trying to take off sideways. Didn't turn out well.

Ten minutes later, old mate paddles past me as I am paddling for a wave and somehow manages to flick my legs as I am taking off. Similar result.

A little bit later, I'm paddling for the best wave I looked at all day and rather than head for the inside he paddles across right where I am about to drop in. "Oh sorry mate I thought I had plenty of time to get out of your way but then I didn't."

There were four of us in the water so there was absolutely no reason for any of it.

Message to blow ins (those here for shorter than me) - if you won't swim it, then don't surf it (Leggie's can and do snap). If you can swim it, then you can take one on the head.
