Allowed 277cm/ 9 foot and the lady said, 30kg luggage plus 15kg surfboard. Which sounds very generous, but they are Indo. Could be a mix up, website does say 2 items of luggage and I reckon more likely total of 30kg...

Seems like a nice option to Garuda anyway, 15kg/9 foot is heaps for at least a couple of boards

Variables of surfboard types are still well off the radar for the majority of people in the world...thank fark...just thought a clear indication of exactly wtf... "moderate" = 277cm is handy for people to know coz I couldn't find any info online for surfboard charges. I should say though, clarifying with them according to your reservation code is probably a good idea at this early stage. A friend took a 8'5 to Indo a few months back & was only allowed one baggage, so he whacked all his gear in with his 8'5...website clearly states 30kg/2 carry on luggage/additional payment for sporting equipment, surfboards falling under this definition. So I was wondering and hey, it could be a diffferent story when I rock up to Perth or Malaysia...fingers crossed its as sweet and easy as the Indian phone chick made it out to be

Absolutely, I flew to Bali with Crapstar last September. I'm embarrassed about how much I paid, but the flights were close to my missus alternative flights to see a band with her friends in Japan. I got a little held up with the missus obtaining her tickets and ended up paying about $1200 return with food/ triple surfboard upgrades, up from $950 when first checked. A friend balied to Bali $150 return last Saturday lol & I have $450 return garuda flights for Jan. But $1200 with no drinks & inflight entertainment is mental, really need to be in some kinda situation to choose them...I will come back & rate Malindo if the thread doesn't timeout.
