Back when i was a young en i did work experience with Bruce Montgomery at Surf West. (if anyone remembers back that far)
I got to build from ground up a board. Normal blank through but it ended up nearly that size
I think the final dimensions were about 4'6"
I soon found that my talent wasn't in building boards
