i love the vid cause i am currently shaping my own alaia from a tom wegener blank , lots of mess when you try doin it in a tiny kitchen unit ( my wife loves me heaps),
dont get me wrong i a sup freak thru and thru but hold an alaia in your hands and youll want one even just to hang on the wall .
the other main thing i love is its a blend of the 2 most extremes of surfing at the moment , the ancient and the new, they couldnt be more opposed styles and shows they can live harmoniously together if you want .
only problem is you need a whole break to yourself if you wanna try .

Have to agree. Alaia's are so much fun and you can get so much glide out of them. I've found you can get through the flattest of sections with them and they are perfect for the little point waves we get here.

i was showing a mate that lives here that vid and he was blown out at it and at the same time said to me dont you get any ideas of doing that as its bad enough me being out on a sup fullstop and bailing out a big board to launch onto the alaia was death for anyone else in the lineup

i saw a newspaper story in the daily telegraph last week about that valla guy i think his name is Sage joske ?
and yep like i said you'll need a whole break to yourself to try tis and maybe even a sup caddy to help recover your battered board hehehehe still fricken amazing though wish i could ride that good.
