Hi crew
Just thought i would post a few recent clips from the Wadi Adventures wave pool, in Al Ain UAE its mostly shortboarding, but one clips has some sup in it, The management are all about making this pool all about surfing/sup, and we have started our own board riders club, called wadi boardriders, you can find us on facebook. If any of you are ever passing through Dubai or Abu Dhabi i highly recommend a drive out to Al Ain.
For about 60 aud you can surf the pool for an hour and for 200 you can rent the whole thing for an hour. It can put out lefts, rights, peaks, and has a great air/closeout section. If your coming here to SUP, bring a board under 8'5 or you wont be able to take it in the pool, There are SUP times and short board times, so to SUP you have to come at the right time or rent the pool for the hour.

Towny, the rubber is so that you don't get concrete rash when you hit the bottom. OUCH!!!

Hey guys
Well i think they are wanting to limit the board size because of the size of the pool and the room available to maneuver around in the takeoff area they are also concerned that larger boards will create a hazard to other riders, But if the whole pool is rented out then you can ride what ever size board you like, and for just over $200 for the hour, i would say thats the way to go anyway.
As far as wearing wetsuits goes, i know its hard to believe but in winter it gets really cold here, it snowed last month in the northern mountain areas behind Ras Al Kimah, its either freeze your behind off in shorts, or wear a wetsuit and be comfortable. Its starting to warm up now though so it will be back to board shorts very soon
