December Club Day & Xmas Breakie

Our next club day will start with a breakfast before the club activities. We are aiming at a BBQ at the location so that we can all get together in a fun social way. This is practiced at other board rider club and works well to get people together for a bit of fun.

Club Day: 12th of December

BBQ Breakie Start Time: 7:15am

Location: Depending on wind (either Maroochydore north of SLSC or Happy Valley) I will advise on email next Saturday and on Club and Seabreeze website.

After the breaky we are going to have a fun team comp. This format means that even the most average surfer can win the day or be on the winning team.

Format

During breakie we will evenly make up teams. The comp will be a team surf comp. Each team member will take turns to paddle out and during their time they can catch a maximum of three waves. When they have caught the wave that they want to have scored they raise their paddle and then paddle in. If they decide to go for their second or third wave then they forfeit the points of the previous wave. If they go for their 3rd wave then that is the one that counts even if it is a wipeout. Greed here can be your downfall here.

The points of your scoring wave will go towards both your teams score and your individual score. If we have a tie on individual scores then we will have a surf off.

Less then 1 year SUP Surf
If you are able to provide prizes please let me know and this will go out on the email prior to the comp day.

We will finish the day with a social surf and expression session. During this time we will have a social comp at trying to acheive certain manoeuvres.

All welcome for the Xmas Breakie. If you have been thinking of joining come along and enjoy the day. Format is as above with Demo Boards and Prizes.
Location will be Happy Valley in Caloundra (Same spot as last month)

Breakie Set Up Time: 7:15am ish....

All non members are welcome. To go in the comps though we ask that they at least be a day member ($10) as this covers all for insurance purposes.

The forcaste is for rain clearing, so with an optimistic mind there will be no change to the format. I was down there today and though the surf was smallish it was very clean. Bring a big board if you have one. If it drops right out we may do a fun BOP style team relay race.

The BBQ should be all good unless it is pouring rain. Soggie bacon and eggs aren't the best.

See you in the morning. I will post in the morning (early) if the BBQ is cancelled so to give warning to eat at home before you come.

Thanks to all those who braved the rain and came along. It was a great day and the conditions were really good. No wind and ultra clean. We got off to a good start with copious amounts of free Bacon and Egg burgers and fruit. Thanks to the team at "Ocean Addicts" for suppling all the food and cooking it up for us.

The team comp was full of fun with the Blue team taking out the overall top place. They consisted of Paul, Jane, Luke, and Pierre.

Paul won the one year sup surf division.

Thanks to Peter Nitshke form Caloundra Wind and Surf for putting up the prize.

We had a sprint race to Bribie Island and back which was an all in affair and the Blue team were victors here again with Luke winning overall.
