Is anyone painting their boards AFTER glassing with regular spray paint in a rattle can, like Rustoleum or Krylon, for example? Does it hold up or tend to slough off after a while?

Did the same to mine... Durable enough

Very durable (I use it over ding repairs), but be sure to protect with clear UV resistant varnish (I use 2 or 3 thin layers), otherwise it will fade.

No, I don't make my own boards... Well actually, I tried to make them as a teenager.... let's say that I gained a lot of respect for shapers and glassers :-)

I would just put the logo as a sticker or paint, and cover with a protective layer, either a resin hot coat or clear varnish.

Some friends write their logos with posca markers, and cover with varnish:
