Grab some deckpad offcut and cut to the width of fin base then stick to underside of fin. Couple pics of this below, u can see on the Pioli centre I stuck on 2 thick at front of fin as deckpad bits squash when fin screw is tightened.
Another quick fixit I have used when nothing else around is rolling up electrical tape to just a bit more than the thickness of lug on base of deeper stock fin and fitting under front of fin before tightening.
Bit "backyard billy" but easier than modifying fin plus then the fin can still be used on regular Futures style fin boxes in other boards.
Probably need to use the screw and plate off the stock fin that came with board as others can be a bit short.

The only difference between windsurf and surf, is 3mm deeper for windsurfing (more strength).

I don't get why you care. surf fins fit just fine. Sure the tab sinks 3mm deeper into the box, but who cares really.

Or buy windsurf fins priced at twice what surf fins sell for.


BTW, to install a windsurf fin in a surf box, you just cut that tab off the bottom of the fin.

YEs, you right because fin base don't have to stick to underside of fin. Just grind fom the bottom the height of glass between the plate and under the bolt head position.
This is the plate pulled up by the screw which anchor the fin in the groove of the rail boxe.

You right too, when say to take off the tab , if not you can crack the bottom of the USbox .
