Hi all,

Just looking to see who out there is loving there hipster twins and what you think of them? pros/cons etc..
They seem like they are fairly wide for the length of them, thinking they will be super stable still with that bit of extra width.

I am currently riding the 10 footer and the 9'2 hipster longboards and I am looking at getting the 8'3 x 31 120l model for the bigger steeper days ( plus probabaly every other day in between on the lower tides) . I love the longboard versions they are super fun and I have taken them out in some awesome swell.

Cbigsup, I'm also interested in the Hipster Twin [also 71 years]. Currently riding a McKill [Pambula local shaper] which is 9'6" and 31.5 wide. It catches waves easily and is as stable as they come. Just a bit of a handful in anything over head high for me [69 kg.] Does the Hipster paddle into waves easily, remembering I'm not getting any younger, fitter or stronger!

i was going to buy the 8.6 x 31.5 134 ltr unfortunately after being told it was in stock when i arrived in the shop it wasnt
so thought id go the 8'10 as i have an 8'10 creek what ive found is its to corky and unstable for my weight at only 85kg the 8'10 is 32 wide and i think its like 145ltr so to much float for me
great on a wave turns with ease just not as stable as i would have thought but im assuming thats because of my weight and the board being corky need to get the 8'8 :) if your in brissy happy for you to borrow my 8'10 to see what you think

I've got a custom 7'6" x 28" wide in the early 90 litre range. I wanted something that was as stable as my old Minion shape but surfs as good as my 7'6" JP Pro. The best thing I did was to talk to Scotty. The guy is very generous with his time and after I told him my stats and ability we nutted out the final dimensions. I love everything about the board, its stability, the way it surfs, the construction, weight, etc. Oh and the boys gave it a killer water camo paint job. Its a keeper for sure.

Ok so I'm 5'11 and around 100kg I ride a 7'10 x29 stock hipster and love it . Super fun fast and paddle well . I have a 8'3 x 29.5 x 115 custom that thinner than the stock 8'3 and rips in big waves ( it's for sale on sea breeze if your interested) scotty makes a great board the hipster is a short rippable board that's stable and super fun

So you are a bigger fella like me... and the 7'10x29 keeps you up okay?? How about in choppier or moving water? For sure on the wave it will be an absolute beast but what about in between waves?

I'm with you Brenno. My 9'2" hipster Longboard just handles everything so amazingly I wonder about why I have another board (Spitfire 8'3") at all. Doesn't stop me wanting a 7'8" X 28" Hipster though (I'm 78 kg) . I do also think a lot about getting a smaller custom hipster (short) Longboard. Something like 8'4" X 27 (or 28). A bit like an Infinity Round Nose Blur except a Smik and a Hipster

I was going to buy a spitfire but ended up buying the 8'10 short Mac great board

Benji I have had a 7'10 Twin, and the 8'3 Spitfire (which is my current board). They are similar volumes but as I mentioned above, the twinny was a bit hard for me to balance in chop (because It was short I found the fore-aft balance a bit of a challenge), so I went to the Spitfire which I love and take out in everything. I suppose the obvious thing thing is the Twin is a bit more toward being a fish, so it is very fast and a bit skatey, and the Spitfire more a traditional carving type board. But that is relative: you could definitely have the Twin as an all rounder, it just leans more to the fish end of the spectrum than the Spitfire if you know what I mean.

What are going to be the dims on that bad boy?

I got the 7'10 stock hipster. Love the way it surfs and is way better than I will ever be. usually beach breaks and the occasional point... my only complaint would be the finish. The paint is really thin and chips super easy, they look really good but my experience has been less than stellar on that front. Still have it and surf it all the time though... improve the finish and it would be a 10/10 for me :)

My stock 10 footer chipped really easy as well. Yet my custom 9 footer is bullet proof and not a chip on it. So not sure if customs are a better finish?
