Yes.. I love fins.. and I'm still a HUGE fan of the plane old dolphin fin shape.. btw.. The stock fin is great and there's no real need to change it..

One thing that I do like about the swept back dolphin fin over the stock fin is the dolphin fin can be dragged across the sand in shallow water better than most other fins that tend to catch.. or dig in and grab causing the board to suddenly stop sending you over the nose..

The new shape stock Naish fin is very nice and the more upright shape helps with both turning and stability.. and the little extra rake on the new fin helps with tracking and not catching weed..

It was pretty shallow in some places where I paddled that day and the swept back dolphin fin works well there.

Did you get a chance to try the Gladiator in your old 2014 glide?

I'm looking forward to trying it in my new (second-hand) 2014 GX.

Hey DJ reckon you should try Kai Lennys race fin - I'm going to try this in the Jav LE on the next paddle think it will work much better than it did on the falcon

I'd love to try one..

I imgine it being good on flat water.. but can't see it working well on a downwinder.. unless you're Kai..

DJ how is the board going? I am 110kg and looking to get onto a faster board.
Am concerned the volume distribution is suited to a middle weight and not my size.
The other options are an NSP DC 14 x 29 Ocean Race or the Fanatic 14 x 27.25 (but the 2015 Fanatic's primary stability is less than desired for big downwinders).
What are your thoughts on the Jav 14 x 28?
Thx

The 14x28 Jav felt like a big boy's board to me. Loads of volume and nice and stable. It was too much board for me (I'm around 76kg) and felt like paddling an oil rig. But it might be perfect for someone 100kgs, i.e. over 30% heavier: big difference.
