Any feedback on this board?

I'm trying to organise a demo, but local Hobie shop doesn't have one in stock.

I'm a beginner, first SUP.
170cm, 60kg.
For bay paddling, some creek, maybe small waves as I get better.

Local price was steep @ $1300-ish.

Should I cross off list or still consider?

Thanks

Hi there,
The 10' ATR2 sounds like a great choice for you as a first board.
Where are you based? I work at Hobie Cat Australasia and may be able to tee something up for you.

Greg

Sorry, just saw your reply.
Appreciate it.
I was feeling like a neglected local.

I'm in Vincentia.

I've just bought a 2nd hand Hobie Board from Melissa (JB SUP).

A 9"8'X 29.5' Hobie Sumo Surf - which I liked as soon as I got on it- for out on the bay.
I'm around 60kg, 170cm tall, so Sumo feels very stable to me, as well as easy to turn, easy to manage, easy to paddle.
Strangely enough, 6'11" son also likes the Sumo (no surfing background, compared with other Hobies 11" and 10"6).

Retail $1700 for new board, paddle, bag package was too much for beginner, IMO.
A beginner doesn't really know what board they want/ need.

Still looking for a 2nd hand "family" board for kids and visitors.
Something nice and stable .....

Please let us know if there's anything "Hobie" SUP-wise out on the bay?
Demos?
Somewhere locals can check out the boards?
Still great weather to be out there.
