Hello, I'm new to the forum, and new to the SUP world.

I'm trying to decide what board to get, and I would love to hear comments about my options.

I live in South Florida.
I'm looking for a board to catch small waves, maximum waist height I would say, and to do some cruising when there are no waves.
So, from what I've read, an all around board that can catch small waves, or a surf board that can cruise decently.

Also, I want something that is easy to re sell in case I don't get hooked or in case I get hooked and want to try different boards.
I'm planning to buy used.
I weight 150lbs.
I've done some surfing in the past. Last time I surfed was about 6 years ago. I was able to catch small waves on my 9' longboard. Not really able to catch anything on short boards. I do kitesurf pretty decently.

Here are the options that I have so far:

Fanatic AllWave 9'4"x33"x4" 175L. I think it's a 2016 model. Brand new, on sale $850
Older Ron House 9'6"x28"x4". Good condition. $500
2016 Naish Nalu GTW 10'6"x30'x4". 160L Gently Used. $850
2016 naish Nalu 11'6"x29"x5". 230L $960. Like new.
2016 Fanatic Fly Pure 9'6"x31". 151L Brand New on Sale. $850

Thanks!

I'd recommend the 10'6" Nalu out of the boards on that list.

Yep, the 10'6 Nalu is a great board. Good on flatwater and surfs like a nice longboard. Go for it.

Thanks for the comments, guys.
I was enthusiast with the older Ron House because of the price mainly, and also with the AllWave 9'4" because I had the idea it would surf better, but I guess the Nalu will be easier for cruising, more all around, and more than good enough for my surfing.

I will go check out the real condition of the board. The seller says it has some paddle marks, but he didn't post any detail pictures on the ad.

This is the only picture on the ad. It should be a 2016 Nalu 10'6" GTW.

I think I will be checking for cracks, signs of repairs and fins being straight.
I doubt I will be able to tell if the board is heavier than what it should be.

Should I check for anything else?

I checked out the board. It looks good. Some little marks as the seller said, but looks very good. It doesn't seem to have been used much.

He's also giving me a day bag and a coil leash.

Then he offered me for $100 a 90" adjustable carbon Kahana Quickblade paddle.
The paddle looked good to me, but I'm not sure though about the right length and size of the paddle. I'm 5'10" The paddle was about 10" higher than me when fully closed.
I've read the thread about correct paddle length. I guess it'd be a bit long if I get to start surfing decently, but I can always cut it a bit, right?

Hopefully I'm picking it up tomorrow.

Only thing that concerned me were some very little bumps on the rail. I guess those are the regular marks left by the paddles and won't affect performance.
The paint was not chipped and there were no cracks.

Thanks for the advice @mpg56. I will put some rail tape.
Yes, it's my first paddle board.

The seller was a very cool guy from California living half the time here in Florida. He treated me very well.

He had a garage full of toys, including four SUP's and a '65 Chevrolet truck restored to new condition.
He told me he was selling the Nalu because he didn't use it much and he had another one like that in California.

The day before we made the deal he had dropped the price to $800, so I ran to grab it.
He also gave me the day bag, a coil leash and a pair of pads for the car roof rack.

Then I also bought from the QP carbon paddle for $100, so he put me in the sport. I'm ready for paddling. Stoked!

I sill have to get a wall rack or some kind of hanger to keep the board safe when put away and some rail tape.

Thanks for the comments, guys!
