Yeah. And not wrong about losing your muscle memory balance when going back to a paddleboard. I got the serious toe to heel wiggles whilst going down the line. Couldn't work out what was happening to me. Haaa!
Got a chance to listen. Good stuff. Couple of good insights in there that I don't think I've heard elsewhere: 1) 'mid-aspect' wings, not as low aspect as first generation go foils, but not as extreme as what signature or the 1.5 go foil wings will probably be. Neil Pryde seems to have hit that spot, right? any others? About what ratio would you consider mid-aspect? 2) The idea of rear wings kinda being like the fins on a normal board. Where do you see that going in the future? I know guys are cutting down their go foil tail wings. Do you see more future in rear wing sizing or positioning? it seems to me like a lot of models could add some flexibility just by tapping an extra hole or two on the fuselage.
Thanks for that and glad you guys got some good info out of it. As far as new mid aspect foils I like the look of the new Starboard wings they have a lot to choose from , so much so it's hard to know what to order. NSP look pretty good and Axis have an awesome new range as well. Mid Aspect is still fairly general term all the new wings are higher aspect which is a better definition a true high aspect foil is a full blown kite or wind surf foil.
Yes next big thing is the rear wings and fuselage length. So much is going on there it's crazy . I have a bucket of rear wings all different shapes and sizes. They make a massive difference, just look at the change in the Go Foil rears that's where it's all heading and they will only get smaller as wing designs improve. Converting old Wind foil rear wings is a great place to start if you want to do some of your own experimenting.
Shorter fuselage also make the foil feel like it's turning on a dime but keep in mind these shorter fuselages and smaller flatter rear wings comes at a cost to stability, so don't go too crazy .

I've got the Slingwing coming in a couple of weeks. I'm hoping it will be a fun alternative to downwind windfoiling in 20-30 knot breezes when the windswells are cranking and it's hard to dump power with a windsurfer rig.
