After spending a couple of weeks poking around Sydney Harbour and Pittwater, all I can say is how fortunate you guys who live in the area are!

America Bay - empty!

There's not too much like this in WA (where we are from), beautiful deep water, plenty of moorings and in some cases, only 50m from the beach and a counter meal!

I caught a salmon in Cowan Creek - LUNCH!

Anyhow - we are off tomorrow morning to continue our northern odyssey.

I will be moving MB from Pittwater to Sydney soon. Broken Bay is great for a few days away but the sailing is pretty boring. I know every Pittwater feature intimately.
The harbour is busier with a few good overnight stops. But the entire shoreline is fantastically interesting.
It is only 3-4 hours to go between them.

Big thumbs up for Lake MacQuarie. Great place to spend a few weeks or a lifetime.

Best time for going in or out is 3 hours after the high tide at Fort Denison in Sydney.

The Lake MacQuarie Yacht Club is a great facility and social hub which is only a 10 min walk from Woolies, Coles, Aldi and everything else Belmont has to offer.

Hopefully the club has a better manager than the jerk who was there two years ago.

Lake Macquarie is just magnificent. I have lived on the southern end of the lake all my life. I used to have a stink boat but now I have a yacht I love it. I used sail when I was young and can't understand why I havn't had a yacht before.
i do intend to do trips between port Stephens and Sydney but will always return to my beautiful lake
