That one is worse than the one I had and I sold it for $300. Mine had a good rig on it and sails as well.

I think once the rust gets into a steel yacht it is just about a write off.

The stove is worth $500! The engine is a bit big but good value.

Fibreglass must come pretty close though easy to fix cracks, or cut out and replace sections.

Price is on the slow rise. I'd inquired about inspection but seller replied not being able to help more(?) in regards to this so on that basis I'm out on it. Could potentially be a great boat with some straight forward refab on sections but without internal inspection risk is great. Makes me wonder if it's some kind of forced sale/settlement issue or worse that the owner might be injured.

Fair bit of money required for a rig. So far the bidding is up to about half what the folding prop cost, 6 grands worth of lead, good freshwater cooled diesel. That gas oven is worth heaps. One of the fairest steel hulls I have seen. The steel repairs wont be that bad and no worst than all those other steel boats about.

True, steel repairs to that VDS would be pretty straight forward, I built one in 85-86. Would have wrecked out of too but too many projects, one of my boys was half keen but woul still be work for me. Hope somebody got a deal on it all the same, shame for the owner/builder that it came to that.
