How do those rear rims in the picture hold up. Are they some aluminum bmx type rims.

I think they are motorcycle rims.

but -something to avoid is "open" spokes, they love to grab your sheet-rope and wind it up.

they can also catch you if you are not careful.

They look like moped wheels.

I THINK THEY ARE OLD gsx 250 RIMS from the 80s . wearing 250x18 inch tyres .I've had then for about 15 years ,just in case I ever wanted to build a land yacht . and the open spoke aren't the safest but I'm still playing with the whole thing, so much to learn and 99% of it is from this forum.

love the seat, we had a bathtub regatta a few years ago, great fun on the day,
i havent seen a set of winch wheels for a few years, they were the predecessors of the modrn cl5 wheels. you really do need a an inside cover at least as they will winch in your sheet rope and collapse your yacht in seconds

Nobody seems to cover their spokes here in Germany/Denmark for that reason.
How many yachts have been "winched up" allready????

bang on the money.
Suzuki GSX 250 [I had the remains of 6 in my shed until I scrapped them to make room for landyachts]
still have a couple of sets of forks and front disks somewhere in there.
