You won't get too many spots that are better than Currumbin in a northerly. I have spoken to quite a few people who have traveled the world kitesurfing in the most exotic locations and they rate Currumbin as being right up near the top of the list as the best. For that reason, yes it does get quite busy but there is plenty of room. It works best on an out going tide and you can just set up on the sand near the car park in the estuary, play in the flat water for a while then head out into the waves.

If it's just good waves ur after with zero crowds, try the south side of the rock wall at the Tallebudgera creek inlet, which is only about a 10min drive from where u r staying. I have done a few downwinders from Narrowneck to Currumbin and have found this spot to have the most epic waves on our journey down the coast, I can only comment on a northerly, but can't see why it wouldn't work in a southerly (cross on of course).

Yea kiting injury. Nothing a mega bit of titanium cant fix, quick shop at bunnings to screw it in too. Heres hoping for Christmas first sesh or a new year treat. It all hurts like hell but dont stop hookn it in the surf

^^^ +1 prea, you only have to look at a map of that area that shows true north,
then you will understand which wind direction works and which doesn't....

Northerly is direct onshore at kirra.NW is cross on and works well, but if its more then NE ur in the wrong spot.

Best on the high or incoming tide for the surfboard.TT for low tide on the sand bank tho

What's the go in a southerly down there, it all looks offshore from what I can see? Couple of big ones coming through next week when I'm down by the looks.
